NIELSEN: TWO-THIRDS OF AAA & ALT ROCK STATIONS GAINED LISTENING DURING THE PAST YEAR

Noncommercial Triple A and Alternative Rock stations did well according to Nielsen Audio’s Fall Quarter ratings in Diary markets.

We looked at the ratings for 16 stations and compared the results with Fall 2019.

There is data from both years for 14 stations. Nine of the 14 increased their AQH share between 2018 and 2019. This means that people are listening longer.

We have highlighted the performers with particularly high gains. KIWR The River [link] is a consistent performer. WXPN more than doubled their AQH share during the past year.

Also making sizable gains were KUMD, Duluth and WNRN in two Virginia markets.

WVAS [link} has a more contemporary aura these days. The Mission is be the New Inspiration For the Nation.

Next week we will tell you more about WMCE.
