JUNE PPM RATINGS: KUOW & KPLU BOTH UP; OpenAir MOJO RISING IN DENVER

Today we have Nielsen Audio PPM data June 2015 compared to June 2014 in five very interesting npncom markets:  Seattle-Tacoma, Denver-Boulder, Boston, Washington DC and Minneapolis-St. Paul.

As you scroll down, first is the Weekly Cumulative listener data. I think Cume is an important metric to watch.  To me, Cume is the closest estimate we have to a “head count” of the entire 6+ population regardless of whether they listened to radio during the survey period.

Scroll down further to see AQH data for all reported stations.

NPR News listening in Seattle continues to rise. KUOW and KPLU (which also airs Jazz) saw notable increases in Weekly Cumulative listeners.  Spunky suburban KBCS seems to have gained since they added talker Thom Hartmann.

Like Stacy’s Mom, KVOQ-FM aka OpenAir has something going on. If you look at their website [link] you can feel the MOJO RISING

In June 2014 OpenAir was only on a beat-up old AM frequency. When they debuted OpenAir on 102.3 FM in February 2015 [click to see our earlier coverage] listeners flocked to the new Triple A voice.

Commercial Triple A KTWN Go 96.3 got a BASEBALL BOUNCE with broadcasts of the Minnesota Twins games. The weekly cume went up a lot but the AQH share was up only a little. Go 96.3 doesn’t appear to be effecting listening to 89.3 The Current.
